Background

Formed in early 2022, Biledriver is an international band, with members residing in the US, Canada, and Sweden. The band was founded through the Images & Words Prog Discord server, and has the distinction of being the first entirely in-house band to come from the server. After a few early lineup changes, the band has settled into its main lineup consisting of Jonah Robertson, Taylor Batory, Jonas Martling, and Jonatan Edqvist.

Despite existing entirely online, producing this album was a lot easier than most would probably think. The writing process was fairly democratic, where everyone was able to freely express their opinions on songwriting and arrangements decisions, as well as mixing critiques during the final stages of production. Songs came together through various means of either members coming in with a mostly fleshed out song, or starting in smaller pieces where other members could add their ideas to it and build the song in phases. The most difficult part, if anything, was (and still is) scheduling times for meetings since we’re all in different time zones.

Biledriver is currently working on their second full length album, though there’s no tentative release date of any kind at this time. We’re still very much in the writing process, and life gets in the way sometimes, so we’re working on the project when we all have availability for it. Expect a new, heavier full length album from Biledriver in the near future.
